Mad Hatter Tea Party

Friday night I was invited to an event hosted by Pyramid Hill/Sculpture Park. Australian Artist Amanda Parer displayed 3 of her 5 rabbit sculptures of art entitled "Intrude" at the park; the other 2 were in downtown Cincinnati for the "Blink" light show this past weekend.

The tea party began quite ironically, we were running late due to traffic, so the term "I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date" was thrown around as we hurried to get there. Once we arrived, we were greeted by the Mad Hatter (aka DJ Christopher Gaines from Jam Entertainment LLC) playing an mad mix of tunes like "Mad Hatter" by Melanie Martinez and "Heads Will Roll" from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and clips from Disney's 1951 cartoon movie Alice in Wonderland.

Hot tea and themed drinks were served along with an arrangement of tasty sweet treats from The Almond Sister's Bakery in Downtown Hamilton.

Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to meet Hollywood Costume Designer Gina Scarnati (who created the hats in the first "Hunger Games" film). She was teaching hat making classes, the week prior but I did not have a free evening to go. I loved seeing all of the hats and outfits that people wore! It really was an incredible evening! Hopefully they do something like this again! I know this coming weekend Pyramid Hill/Sculpture Park is hosting a Zombie Ball. For tickets and information check out:

Here's some more pictures from the evening and the link to the dress I wore Friday!

Naperville

Over the weekend we were in Chicago and Saturday night we decided to visit Naperville. We stayed at Hotel Indigo which is right on the water and near to all the bars and restaurants. It had some really unique decor in the room and around the hotel. They have brunch on Sunday but we didn't have a chance to go. Parking is easy, and for the most, part free around Naperville. It's really a neat little area of the town; which I am told is home to over 147,000 residents, has 3 high schools, and is in 2 different counties!        The first place we checked out was a wine bar, below our hotel called " SixtyFour - A Wine Bar " ( 123 Water St #105a) . They have 64 wines on tap, but it's set up where you serve yourself. They give you a card (kind of like at the casino) and you insert it into one of the machines, choose your wine and how much you want (1oz, 3oz or 6oz). Put your glass under the spout and remove your card after it pours. If you watched my story I

Madison, Indiana

We had a wonderful weekend in Madison, Indiana this past weekend. We started out Saturday morning, taking back roads all through Indiana along the river. We went through Lawrenceburg, Rising Sun, Florence (Indiana not Kentucky, where Belterra Casino is), we crossed the bridge to see the Locks in Warsaw, KY, then onto Ghent. We found a wonderful family owned distillery ("Neeley Family Distillery") . It's near Kentucky Speedway, 11 generations of Distillers! From there we crossed back into Indiana and onto our final destination in Madison. The thing I love about road trips with my husband is all the things we see along the way! We never set out to drive somewhere and don't stop at least twice to see something random. We knew there were some good wineries along the way (Ridge Winery, Lanthier Winery and Thomas Family Winery) and we wanted to check out Rising Star Casino and Belterra Casino. Those we had planned, but the distillery was a fun find and being an engi

Las Vegas Girls Trip!

TRIP TIPS HELLO VEGAS!!! I had an amazing weekend with my ladies in " Sin City "! I've been there about 15 times over the last 6 years and none of my trips have ever been the same (or even similar.) I have never stayed in the same hotel twice and there is always something new to I learn on every trip. We used to have a good friend who lived in Southern California and would drive in to visit whenever we were in Vegas. We would go hiking during the day and hit the clubs at night; so over the years, I have hiked a lot of places in Nevada. Before this trip, the girls and I talked about seeing a show or doing something fun besides the club. So Thursday afternoon we decided to take a helicopter ride over Lake Mead, the Grand Canyon and around the area. Even having seen the beauty of these places before, seeing it from overhead was a whole new experience! I highly recommend checking out the helicopter tours since there is so much to see; this is a great way to cram it in a
