Travel Light Continued

I learned a lot from my last trip. Packing light is an art! I am looking forward to our next trip in December to Florida! Here are a few tips and tricks for your next weekend voyage!

So the leggings definitely were a good thing to pack; simple black leggings. I wore them on the plane and then again to go out to the bar with a thin black top (the perfect "I just got off a plane and even though I'm tired I want to party" look. I packed a pair of flat dressy sandals that I wore with the outfit, I also wore them to the pool, the winery and could have worn them to the airport because they are flat and comfy to walk in. I recommend these from Macy’s:

Kenneth Cole Reaction Women's Lost Star Flat Sandals

I doubled my dress from H&M as a cover-up for the pool. It’s light weight and has pockets (bonus!) Another great reason to bring a tote like the LV Neverfull, you can carry it as a beach bag! Once all of my clothes were put away, it was empty so I could throw my magazine and the Turkish Beach
Towel from Amazon  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071J1RPS7/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and GO! (Unfortunately my dress is no longer in stock so here are some similar options:

The last thing I have to add is the knit vest. I wore it as a scarf, (above picture), used it as a blanket and as a pillow (was a little thin as a pillow but better than nothing). I got mine from Gabe's but here are a few from Gap that are similar. all you do to wear it like a scarf is put it around your neck (arm holes on your right and bottom of the vest on your left), thread the bottom through one arm hole and back out through the other. Adjust accordingly and you are done! Scarves keep you very comfortable on a plane and you have better movement of your arms if you aren't wearing a jacket.

My Little Bathroom Nook

My little bathroom nook is finally complete! We been in the cottage for 5 months now and when we moved in it was the beginning of the shut downs so it was like just get moved in and deal with getting settled later! When we moved in it was a plane storage closet with the electrical box. I can't even remember if we had shelves or not. We purchased a little plastic 3 drawer storage box on wheels from Meijer and that was about it. We put an accordion door on it so we could close it (out of sight when we had guests). But honestly mid party I would realize we had forgotten to close it and our junk was still in sight! So here we are several months later, about to start on the main house but at least I finally finished this to enjoy the last few months or so while we are still living in the cottage! Pink Washcloths from Target because our old ones met  their fate from a pen in the washing machine. DIY TIP: If you have a bottle that you...

My Little Gray Cape (Trench Coat)

I am LOVING this cape for Fall! When I bought it I thought, 'ok this is going to be cute for the beginning of Fall when it's not super cold, then I'll have to layer sweaters under it and still wear a coat.' But just wearing it for the short time we did this shoot I was sweating! It's perfect for Fall nights, long car rides, plane rides, anything where it gets chilly but you want to be able to throw it off to use your arms. I can't wait to wrap up in it all Fall/Winter long and be nice and cozy! It also comes in Black so I may have to own 2 bc I have a feeling this will be a staple piece in my wardrobe! (Perfect too for formal occasions, verses a coat; yep definitely need it in black!)                                                                                  ...

Mad Hatter Tea Party

Friday night I was invited to an event hosted by Pyramid Hill/Sculpture Park. Australian Artist Amanda Parer displayed 3 of her 5 rabbit sculptures of art entitled "Intrude" at the park; the other 2 were in downtown Cincinnati for the "Blink" light show this past weekend.                                                                                                                The tea party began quite ironically, we were running late due to traffic, so the term "I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date" was thrown around as we hurried to get there. Once we arrived, we were greeted by the Mad Hatter (aka DJ Christopher Gaines from Jam Entertainment LLC) playing an mad mix of tun...
