Travel Light Continued

I learned a lot from my last trip. Packing light is an art! I am looking forward to our next trip in December to Florida! Here are a few tips and tricks for your next weekend voyage!

So the leggings definitely were a good thing to pack; simple black leggings. I wore them on the plane and then again to go out to the bar with a thin black top (the perfect "I just got off a plane and even though I'm tired I want to party" look. I packed a pair of flat dressy sandals that I wore with the outfit, I also wore them to the pool, the winery and could have worn them to the airport because they are flat and comfy to walk in. I recommend these from Macy’s:

I doubled my dress from H&M as a cover-up for the pool. It’s light weight and has pockets (bonus!) Another great reason to bring a tote like the LV Neverfull, you can carry it as a beach bag! Once all of my clothes were put away, it was empty so I could throw my magazine and the Turkish Beach
Towel from Amazon  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071J1RPS7/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and GO! (Unfortunately my dress is no longer in stock so here are some similar options:

The last thing I have to add is the knit vest. I wore it as a scarf, (above picture), used it as a blanket and as a pillow (was a little thin as a pillow but better than nothing). I got mine from Gabe's but here are a few from Gap that are similar. all you do to wear it like a scarf is put it around your neck (arm holes on your right and bottom of the vest on your left), thread the bottom through one arm hole and back out through the other. Adjust accordingly and you are done! Scarves keep you very comfortable on a plane and you have better movement of your arms if you aren't wearing a jacket.

Naperville

Over the weekend we were in Chicago and Saturday night we decided to visit Naperville. We stayed at Hotel Indigo which is right on the water and near to all the bars and restaurants. It had some really unique decor in the room and around the hotel. They have brunch on Sunday but we didn't have a chance to go. Parking is easy, and for the most, part free around Naperville. It's really a neat little area of the town; which I am told is home to over 147,000 residents, has 3 high schools, and is in 2 different counties!        The first place we checked out was a wine bar, below our hotel called " SixtyFour - A Wine Bar " ( 123 Water St #105a) . They have 64 wines on tap, but it's set up where you serve yourself. They give you a card (kind of like at the casino) and you insert it into one of the machines, choose your wine and how much you want (1oz, 3oz or 6oz). Put your glass under the spout and remove your card after it pours. If you watched my story I

Madison, Indiana

We had a wonderful weekend in Madison, Indiana this past weekend. We started out Saturday morning, taking back roads all through Indiana along the river. We went through Lawrenceburg, Rising Sun, Florence (Indiana not Kentucky, where Belterra Casino is), we crossed the bridge to see the Locks in Warsaw, KY, then onto Ghent. We found a wonderful family owned distillery ("Neeley Family Distillery") . It's near Kentucky Speedway, 11 generations of Distillers! From there we crossed back into Indiana and onto our final destination in Madison. The thing I love about road trips with my husband is all the things we see along the way! We never set out to drive somewhere and don't stop at least twice to see something random. We knew there were some good wineries along the way (Ridge Winery, Lanthier Winery and Thomas Family Winery) and we wanted to check out Rising Star Casino and Belterra Casino. Those we had planned, but the distillery was a fun find and being an engi

Las Vegas Girls Trip!

TRIP TIPS HELLO VEGAS!!! I had an amazing weekend with my ladies in " Sin City "! I've been there about 15 times over the last 6 years and none of my trips have ever been the same (or even similar.) I have never stayed in the same hotel twice and there is always something new to I learn on every trip. We used to have a good friend who lived in Southern California and would drive in to visit whenever we were in Vegas. We would go hiking during the day and hit the clubs at night; so over the years, I have hiked a lot of places in Nevada. Before this trip, the girls and I talked about seeing a show or doing something fun besides the club. So Thursday afternoon we decided to take a helicopter ride over Lake Mead, the Grand Canyon and around the area. Even having seen the beauty of these places before, seeing it from overhead was a whole new experience! I highly recommend checking out the helicopter tours since there is so much to see; this is a great way to cram it in a
