A Year Of Style

So I am a little behind on this. I actually wanted to post it New Years Day and had most of it written but but time just got away from me and I wanted to proof it before I published it. Anyway, better late than never right?! So this is a collaboration of what I had written and what I added. Hope you enjoy it and check out some of my favorite finds and articles from each month!!

When the new year is approaching and I get my new desk calendar, I like to flip threw before I toss it and remember what all has happened in the past year. What events I have attended, what trips I've gone on. It's makes me feel like I have had a great year even if there have been things that have gone wrong or made me sad, seeing those highlights makes me smile and look forward to all the things that will fill the new blank calendar on my desk!

So here is a look back at my highlights from InStyle Magazine from 2017:

Favorite Find from February: http://www.instyle.com/celebrity/victorias-secret-street-style-models-angels I am totally inspired by these glam gals street styles! Whether it's just something that grabs my attention from Josephine Skriver's red jacket and OTK boots or Lais Ribeiro's simple crop top/skirt combo. They will all give you a spark of inspo for the season! Side note, I LOVE the cover from this month!! I am SO inspired to find a dress like Gwen's!!

March 2017

Favorite Find from March: http://www.instyle.com/beauty/health-fitness/post-workout-beauty-products#1634238 I love my workouts!! I do weights 3 times a week and try to run 2-3 times a week, on the days I don't do weights. So I included ALL of these post workout beauty products because I know how easy it can be to skip a workout because you have an event to attend later that evening and you know you are going to get sweaty working out. I typically will shower if there is time but if not wipes are your best friend! I try not to mess up my makeup so there is little to correct; I am very lucky I don't sweat a lot or easily, lol.

May 2017

Favorite Find from May: http://www.instyle.com/news/jennifer-lopez-updo-hair-american-idol I always feel like "messy hair" is always in style! It almost has to be with winter hats messing it up, summer heat and activities forcing you to pull it back and workouts and busy life encouraging that piled on top your head look. J.Lo.'s "messy look" is far from "messy" but I love it!

http://www.instyle.com/beauty/skin/elf-beauty-shield-recharging-magnetic-mask-review
I am honest when I say that I have not gotten a chance to try this magnetic mask from E.L.F. but it is on my shopping list! I have may products from E.L.F. they are a very affordable and reliable brand! This is definitely something I want to get my hands on!!

Favorite Find from August: http://www.instyle.com/beauty/beauty-products-tools/skin-care-makeup-celebrities-use#3013523 I couldn't agree with Taylor Hill's statement (#9) about the glimmer cream! Whether it's in the gloom of winter or the sunny days of summer (when people wear less makeup anyway, shimmer is one thing I always have in my makeup bag).

Favorite Find from December: http://www.instyle.com/news/3-ways-remove-your-gel-manicure-without-going-salon As you might have seen from my posts I lived in fake nails over the Holidays. I did not have the time nor the patients to deal with chipped polish or broken nails. Luckily I remembered some tricks for removing the nails so I could apply new ones and keep my sanity through the season, lol. If you don't want to destroy your nails by picking at them check out this article from December!

Naperville

Over the weekend we were in Chicago and Saturday night we decided to visit Naperville. We stayed at Hotel Indigo which is right on the water and near to all the bars and restaurants. It had some really unique decor in the room and around the hotel. They have brunch on Sunday but we didn't have a chance to go. Parking is easy, and for the most, part free around Naperville. It's really a neat little area of the town; which I am told is home to over 147,000 residents, has 3 high schools, and is in 2 different counties!        The first place we checked out was a wine bar, below our hotel called " SixtyFour - A Wine Bar " ( 123 Water St #105a) . They have 64 wines on tap, but it's set up where you serve yourself. They give you a card (kind of like at the casino) and you insert it into one of the machines, choose your wine and how much you want (1oz, 3oz or 6oz). Put your glass under the spout and remove your card after it pours. If you watched my story I

Madison, Indiana

We had a wonderful weekend in Madison, Indiana this past weekend. We started out Saturday morning, taking back roads all through Indiana along the river. We went through Lawrenceburg, Rising Sun, Florence (Indiana not Kentucky, where Belterra Casino is), we crossed the bridge to see the Locks in Warsaw, KY, then onto Ghent. We found a wonderful family owned distillery ("Neeley Family Distillery") . It's near Kentucky Speedway, 11 generations of Distillers! From there we crossed back into Indiana and onto our final destination in Madison. The thing I love about road trips with my husband is all the things we see along the way! We never set out to drive somewhere and don't stop at least twice to see something random. We knew there were some good wineries along the way (Ridge Winery, Lanthier Winery and Thomas Family Winery) and we wanted to check out Rising Star Casino and Belterra Casino. Those we had planned, but the distillery was a fun find and being an engi

Las Vegas Girls Trip!

TRIP TIPS HELLO VEGAS!!! I had an amazing weekend with my ladies in " Sin City "! I've been there about 15 times over the last 6 years and none of my trips have ever been the same (or even similar.) I have never stayed in the same hotel twice and there is always something new to I learn on every trip. We used to have a good friend who lived in Southern California and would drive in to visit whenever we were in Vegas. We would go hiking during the day and hit the clubs at night; so over the years, I have hiked a lot of places in Nevada. Before this trip, the girls and I talked about seeing a show or doing something fun besides the club. So Thursday afternoon we decided to take a helicopter ride over Lake Mead, the Grand Canyon and around the area. Even having seen the beauty of these places before, seeing it from overhead was a whole new experience! I highly recommend checking out the helicopter tours since there is so much to see; this is a great way to cram it in a
